Becoming A Master Of Music By Following Piano Instruction
by Sonya Riley
Everyone loves music. It can be relaxing, encouraging or comforting and anything between sophisticated and revolutionary. Music brings the world together: there is no culture without some kind of playing and singing. With music being such an amazing phenomenon, it may have crossed one's mind, how great it would be to be able to create it. With these easy piano instruction you can learn to play your favorite songs.
It may be a good move to take at least some lessons. Many areas have their own music schools, private or public. Getting in may require an audition, but that's no reason to be freaked out. They wont expect any professionals showing up, so just prepare to sing your favorite song and answer some questions about your musical history and why you want to get in.
Besides music schools there is plenty of private teachers. The best way to find teachers around your neighborhood is to do some research online, read local newspaper and ask family and friends if they know someone. Private teacher should be as good or even better choice than one in a music school. If the teacher is nice, you can make the plans for your lessons together. Nevertheless, there is multiple ways to learn online without an actual teacher. You just have to know the basics first.
The notation system, as well as your instrument, consists of ongoing octaves. These octaves always start and end with the same note. C-major for instance: C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C. There's actually very logical system for naming the different C:s and D:s etc., but most of the time you here people just talking about the 'lower D' and 'really high C'.
You will find the basic C-major quite in the middle of your instrument. Although it takes place at white keys, the easiest way to find it is to look at the black ones. You see them making groups of two and three. C is the white key right on the left side of the left-sided-key at any group of two black keys. If you play all the white keys up to the next C, you have just played the C-major.
Now place your right hand's thumb on the C you just found. Your other four fingers fall naturally to the next white keys. Start on the key E whit your middle finger and play: E D C D E E E D D D E G G, take a rest and continue: E D C D E E E D D E D C.
If that seems difficult, you can try colors instead of letters or create your own method, whatever works for you. Draw your own notes! Improvising or playing by ear is not a bad idea either.
If everything went well, you just played 'Mary had a little lamb'. Hopefully these piano instruction made you excited to learn more and take up this wonderful hobby. Search the web for video-tutorials, how to read music sheets and more!
